I am a poet,
author, musician, lover, father, son to George Stanley Bell, techno geek, student of life
and truth, aspiring master of myself, and man who loves
to laugh, make jokes and enjoy life. I believe we are spiritual
beings having a human experience. I am a man passionate
about life, love, and nature. I am a child loving to play
and create, to love and touch and be loved and be touched.
I am what no labels can define. I was raised on milestones,
but now I live on the journey, in the joy of the moment.
I laugh with no restraint and I cry the same. There is so
much joy in this life, and I want it all!
Growing up, I developed talents in music,
sports, science and math, with intense interest in philosophy
and spirituality. My first recallable memory is of looking
in the mirror at the age of four and asking, “why
am I here?” Always an empath, I went through much
of my life not understanding which emotions belonged to
others and which were my own. After a divorce and other
major life changes in 1999, I shifted focus to looking inward
to awaken and this gave me the clarity to see and understand
the power of thoughts
and emotions. A large part of this was learning
to express myself openly and courageously in poetry.
I experienced benefit in my works, and I created a website
for the world to read, comment and hopefully experience
similar benefit. The first response was very negative and
almost motivated the shutting down of the website, but I
persisted and have had overwhelmingly positive response
ever since. Readers have called my works beautiful, inspiring,
healing, motivating, empowering and brilliant. The important
thing to me is to hear people say that I have helped them
express, understand and heal.
Why all the Native American art and themes
throughout my website?
Because there are simple truths in nature,
Native Spirituality
is closer to nature than western religions, dominant culture
seems to "rationalize" away basic truths in exerting
its dominion over nature. We are so out of synch with the
realities of our own environment and I want our awareness
to increase so we can cooperate with our environment instead
of abusing it. Otherwise, as referred to in the movie “The
Matrix,” to nature, we behave as a virus. Ever since
I was a child, when I heard the teaching "we will know
him by the fruits he bears", I knew in my heart that
we can know God by the fruits He bears. No one religion,
government, or political party has a monopoly on truth.
My foundation is in the Catholic religion and Native (Lakota)
Spirituality, Buddhism, and other Eastern Spiritualities
have helped me refine my truth.
Family Fun
The most beautiful places in the world can't
be reached by car. You've got to put on a backpack, some
good shoes and socks, and a spirit of discovery and hike
up a trail. Big payoff for the effort. Here are some pictures
of my kids and I hiking the Mt. Whitney trail.
Shreading Down The Mountain
In winter 2004, my kids and I discovered snowboarding.
It had been 15 years since I skied, my kids had never skied
and we all decided to learn to snowboard.... I am glad we
did. It ROCKS, you simply must try it! Some day I want to
snowboard from a helicopter in Alaska!

My Power Animals
Eagle and Wolf are my power animals.. one
on the earth, one in the heavens and my physical manifestation
in between. Connecting with them helps me realize my wild
and natural side. There are so many aspects to me and so
many sources of truth. One day it is my eagle the next day
it is the guy who empties my trash at my work.
Sometimes when the answers don't come
We really just need to ask the questions
and walk forward in the direction of our heart
and in these quiet steps we hear the answers
from the whispering wind,
from down deep inside
from the guy in the other cubicle,
from a stranger on the street,
sometimes from places we would never expect
and answers come not because
some "expert" says them
but because truth resonates in our heart.
Life is not milestones
Life is a journey
it is not doing, it is being
not fighting the flow of life, but going with the
flow
Some steps are in the light of day,
Some in the dark of night.
