Introduction to this Book:

I love the move “The Matrix” because it is so full of spiritual and philosophical symbols and metaphors. Morpheus explains to Neo about the “splinter in his mind” that has brought him to seek the truth. I think we all have experienced the “splinter,” the unrest inside that is driving us somewhere but we are not sure where. The unrest is our soul struggling to be heard through the noise and distractions of the ego. When we do “take the red pill” and transition to awareness from illusion, I think most of us struggle with the frustration of perceived wasted time and the wishing that we knew back then what we know now. This is definitely true in my case. I wish I could have found a book that spoke plainly to help me understand what was going on inside me and where I needed to go.

Yes there was higher thought and paths to awareness described in plenty of "feel good" New Age books and convoluted riddles in some older texts, but many of these books were too passive for me or they lacked explanations in the simplest and basic terms.

I believe what is simple is true. Ego complicates, Spirit simplifies. Truth and clarity only comes when we put in the work to discipline our thoughts.

The spiritual path is a sensual one, it is our senses the speak to us in the language of spirit through the heart. I seek to bridge the gap between Heaven and Earth for all of us. This book, Foreplay to Afterglow for the Soul, is filled with those things I wish I could have read so many years ago.

Since I have published my poetry I have learned that others read my poetry and discovery new aspects of themselves and life that they never could express or understand before.

I began my journey as an unsure, introverted man with many questions and few answers, and became a confident, gentle yet strong, out-going man with a beautiful sense of peace, learning to experience passion that I never before dreamed was possible.

I want any one that reads my words answer the call of their splinter in their mind, become aware of and live their true nature, and know the joy I have known.
