Release Date: 1998
Synopsis:
If Janis Joplin sang in front of
the Black Crowes, you'd know what I was
talking about. I've just been to church
and it ain't Sunday! This is the church
of sensual, soulful rock! A little clean,
a little dirty, and a lot sexy, take the
plunge into the Swamp!
Legendary music producer Phil Ramone and
Elliot Scheiner, of Eagles and Steely
Dan fame, captured the sensual groove
of Swamp Boogie Queen in a New York castle
and created Ill Gotten Booty. The sound
is Janis Joplin, The Black Crowes and
The Rolling Stones together and more.

In this grassroots
album, your soul will soar to the
provocative "Suffern Street," your
heart goes out to the gospel organ
and gut-tuggin' '' vocals of "Little
Miss Mae." From the locomotive rhythm
of the first single, "Ease My Mind"
and the rollicking pedal-to-the-metal
drive of "Keep On" to the snaky groove
that carries the double-edged pledge
of "Evil Ways;" the piano and voice
simplicity of "Never Leave" and the
blues smolder of "I Need Your Love
So Bad," Swamp Boogie Queen is a passionate,
joyous, liberating experience. "We're
carrying a torch for the power of
music," says Abi.
