Candlelight
By David Stanley Bell

Daylight a memory
starlight twinkles in the cool air
in this evening, just beginning
a crescent moon smiles
as I light the last candle
the flames flicker
taste and tease the air
shadows dance upon the walls
and the light
sparkles in your eyes
your lips, moist and soft
your cheeks glow with the warmth
of the love in your heart
your silky hair lays softly upon your face
and upon the tender flesh of your shoulders
your eyes gaze into mine
your arms reach out for me
one hand touches my face
the other my shoulder
my heart beats strong
quickly
I feel your moist lips
upon my own
bright are the flames
warm is our hearts
and the night glows with a mystic sun
