Hope
By David Stanley Bell

Full of joy
full of tears
it’s all getting better
with every new day
I raise my sails to the wind
journey on
across the burning blue

Even tear-filled eyes
can see the beauty of dreams
my hope fuels my steps
Love is all there is
Love is the gentle butterfly wings
Love is my heart
it goes on and on
living
dying
living again

Time heals nothing
time makes us grow old
Trust and faith heal all
the faith of a child
refusing to indulge in pain
and distrust
Attention to the purpose of pain
heals all
process
release
mend the sails
journey anew

The sun is rising
the day is calling
time to leave the dock again
Can you see me for who I am?
Can you see yourself for who you are?
The most simple gift you can give me
yet also the most profound
is the gift of your time
Time shared is eternal
time shared makes miracles
Would you like to sail with me?
