Imminent Touch
By David Stanley Bell

All the pondering
all reflection
slip surreally away
as silk slides down flesh
attention finely tuned
on glories exposed
entire being focused
in unrivaled clarity
the truth before the eyes
no rational plan will do
I'll have to feel my way

gone are the fears, the doubts
that controlled the day
now shadows cast by setting sun
take on a life all their own
Dionysian beings ready for play
possess these bodies

all my yesterdays
all my tomorrows
become this moment
of imminent touch
