Learn to Forgive
By David Stanley Bell

What benefit?
what pay-off
Do I possibly get
when I hold on to my anger
my resentment
and I do not forgive
I do not like
the cancerous growth of control
the malignant manifestations of disease
so why do I not release
and set the past free
I grow weary from the weight
and ache to set it down
I forgive you
I forgive me
I want to live
