Love Me Forever
By David Stanley Bell

My aching heart
ages of travail, troubles and triumph
I ache not from a history of pains
I ache in my desire
to be with you
I pray for the moments
we call our own
a night
a weekend
a lifetime
love me forever
I know
you are afraid of hurt
Trust in my pain
my lessons learned
trust in my courage
and the courage that stirs
beneath your flesh
I open my heart to love again
my longing to be free
soaring high in the arms of my loved one
In this moment
through this pounding heart
and trembling hands
I am fearless
I am courageous
our love flows like a river
and takes us under
to breathe each other’s breath
Let’s share this moment
Let’s make history
Let’s share forever
