My Friend, My Healer
By David Stanley Bell

you don't let me forget to breathe
you don't let me forget to feel
the love that is all around me
you are my clarity in confusion
my acceptance amid judgment
in your forgiveness I find the hope
of a warm summer sunrise
kind words when I need to heal
stern words when I need to reflect
you keep me true to myself
you see through the drama of the storm
and embrace what is real
you love, you care
you lift me up where eagles sing
my friend, my healer

(Dedicated to Janara)
