Raindrops
By David Stanley Bell

How I wish
these were raindrops upon my cheeks
I would walk
amid the merciful showers
worries, washing away
making light the heavy heart
with the sweet taste of new beginnings
How I wish
these were raindrops upon my cheeks

How I wish
that were thunder trembling within my limbs
sonic pulses rock my body
rumble through the valley
and touch eternity
in its might embrace
How I wish
that were thunder trembling within my limbs

How I wish
it was lightening lifting my hairs on end
electric fingers that slice the air
fireworks unite the heavens and earth
All I can do is watch in awe
feeling my heartbeat rise with every stroke
How I wish
it was lightening lifting my hairs on end
How I wish
