Ready
By David Stanley Bell

I am
ready to forget
ready to forgive
ready to release
ready to breathe again
pain and sorrow
frustration and anger
are but distant thunder
for the storm has passed
my tears have dried
rainbows and smiles
now meet the dawn
I am the new day
I am the composer
the artist
I caress
the bow upon the strings
the brush upon the canvas
I can heal, I can love
I can make new life
now I dare to dream
to feel
to reach for stars
once so far away
and hold the sacred light in my hands
Tomorrow
you are the child
of my dreams
today
