See Me
By David Stanley Bell

I know that you see me
through different glasses
some clear
some murky
some fashioned by your own hands
some fashioned for you
sometimes
I see the clarity reflected
in your own shimmering pools of jade
sometimes
I see you squint
to perceive what seems foreign
pristine or foggy
I am here
blood and bone
flesh and form
spirit and soul
I am who I am
cannot
be anything that I am not
It's warm and cozy here
take it all off
and see what I mean
