The Uninvited
By David Stanley Bell

I know you
every cell in my body
desires
coming home to you
reaching for the heavens with you
you feel
you understand
the heights each one of us has reached
the passion
each one of us has to give
the love we’ve made
our bed, the clouds
paradise, in each other’s arms

to gaze into your eyes
without a broken glance
feeling your connection one moment
and then watching the veil fall upon you the next
feeling your soul tugged
from within the embrace of my own
my heart falling
into the emptiness that remains
your eyes cloud over
with the approaching storm
you pull within the safety
of what you know
your moment to deliberate

The moon bleeds red
the eclipse that never ends
your joyous, passionate soul
lost in the lust to know
the search for the reasonable
yields only that which is
the science of a single truth
directs the retreat
from that
which doesn't belong
an unfortunate slight

Author's Comment:
This poem is meant to be the response of the uninvited to the song "Uninvited" by Alanis Morissette, an awesome song.
