David Stanley Bell Biography:

David Stanley BellDavid Stanley Bell was born in a Los Angeles suburb on April 20th 1960, the son of a Chemical Engineer and a Catholic religion teacher both from Washington DC. David was raised in middle class neighborhoods of the west San Fernando Valley and has two older sisters and two younger sisters.

Growing up, David developed talents in music, sports, science and math, with a diligent interest in philosophy and spirituality. The first recall-able memory is of looking in the mirror at the age of four and asking, "why am I here?"

David learned bass and guitar at the age of twelve and joined the folk music mass group which he led by the age of eighteen. In High School, intense focus shifted to sports where he lettered in varsity football for three years and won second in all Los Angeles city for his weight class in wrestling. He decided to pursue an engineering degree while continuing to led the folk mass and be an assistant coach for his former high school wrestling team. His dream was a career in the music industry, but he heard many stories of poverty on the path to a music career so he got the training to secure a good day-job and pay for cool gear.

After earning an BS and MS in electrical engineering, he was recruited into industry where he earned the money to get a pick-up truck and a PA system so he could start a rock band. He also got married and had a son and a daughter by the time he was 26. After 15 years of playing in different bands, he finally got a record deal, got to record a CD with legendary producer Phil Ramone, got to tour the US with bands like Lynyrd Skynyrd and Kenny Wayne Shepherd, all of this while still working the engineering day job in the aerospace industry.

Experiences on the road led to major shifts in thinking, feeling and awareness and David eventually quit the band, got a divorce, and started to write poetry to express and understand his own emotional, spiritual growth and passion for life. Always an empath, David went through much of his life not understanding which emotions belonged to others and which were his own, and his shifted focus looking inward gave him the clarity to see and understand himself and to understand of thoughts and emotions.

He experienced benefit in the works he wrote, and he created a website for the world to read, comment and hopefully experience similar benefit. The first response was very negative and almost motivated the shutting down of the website, but David persisted and has had overwhelmingly positive responses ever since. Readers have called his works beautiful, inspiring, healing, motivating, empowering and brilliant.

Since then, his interest has grown in healing and he has learned Reiki I and Reiki II and pranic healing modalities.

David is the father of two beautiful young adults named Kristin and Andrew, and is pursuing a writing career. In his technical management job, David successfully applies 'universal consciousness' techniques. Through his life David has found himself in the middle of many situations, but in the bigger picture, he seeks to help us all bridge the gap between heaven and earth.

David's major spiritual influences are Louise Hay, Almine Barton, Thich Nhat Hanh, the Oglala Sioux spirituality, and Deepak Chopra. His prose and essays can regularly be seen on his website called 'Poetry For The Journey' at http://www.davidstanleybell.com.
